Declarative Knowledge and English Cognition

运用认知心理学理论,本文主要讨论陈述性知识对英语认知的作用。文章指出,陈述性知识是中国学习者认知英语的基石,对学习者的语言认知、文化认知和语言使用能力的发展具有重要意义。

This paper mainly discusses the functions of declarative knowledge in English cognition. Based on such discussion, it holds that the acquired declarative knowledge forms the foundation for Chinese learners＇ cognition of English and works as a medium with which they can process the English messages. Therefore, it is of vital importance to the learners＇ cognition of the English language and its culture, as wall as to the development of their capabilities of using the language.
