TIANDONG County is an old town in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It has a territory of 2,816sq km, a population of 397,000, and is situated in the Youjiang River Valley in the western part of the autonomous region. Archaeological findings show human activity occurred there as far back as 830,000 years ago. And 1,000 years ago, it was the starting point of the ancient Tea-Horse Trail that connected Dali in China's Yunnan Province to India and Southeast Asia.
