美国国家教育进步评估（NAEP）是目前美国国内唯一连续长期的中小学生学业成绩测量体系．NAEP于2006年11月公布了《2005年美国城市地区学生科学能力试验性评估》报告，展示了美国10个学区4年级和8年级学生的科学能力评估的结果，通过该报告揭示了美国各州与学区在教育工作上的不足，为改进教育工作提供参考。

NAEP is the only national educational assessment system focusing on basic education achievement, it released report Science 2005 Trial Urban District Assessment of grades 4 and 8, this report shows the science performance of grade 4 and 8 in urban districts, exposes the shortages of different districts, and provides some references in improving US basic education.
