摘要
习语是某一语言在使用过程中形成的独特的固定的表达方式,其不仅在语言特征,也在内容、结构和语用上存在着相似之处。大量有代表性的例子可用来阐述英汉两种语言在内容、起源、背景、语用,表达方式和功能等方面的异同。
A large number of idioms exist in Chinese and English languages. Not only the differences of internal characteristics exist, but the similarities appear in the content, surface structures and usages. This paper attempts to discuss differences and similarities of idioms from the two languages by comparing and analyzing them in regard to their content, origin, background, usage, expression and function. Based on the plentiful and representative examples, this paper provides more insights into Chinese and English idioms.
