作为二十世纪压倒一切的文艺思潮,后现代主义就象这个术语本身一样,具有很大的不确定性和不稳定性。对后现代主义的阐释正如“后现代”这个术语一样,具有不确定性。后现代主义影响了二十世纪包括文学在内的方方面面,杂糅了同时代的各种思潮。托马斯·品钦,美国著名的后现代代表作家,在小说创作上体现了独特的风格。
As an overwhelming trend in 20th century, postmodemism offers great indeterminacy and instability. The interpretation of postmodemism is, just like the term itself, indeterminate. Postmodemism,a blending of various thoughts, influences many areas in 20th century, including literature. As one of the most famous postmodemists, Thomas Pynchon has his typical characteristics in fiction composition.
