Tourism holds a very important position in the industrial structure and plays a very important role in dealing with industry emptiness and employment in Three Gorges Reservoir area. However, tourist products in this area has been only confined to sightseeing, especially, transit sightseeing for long. Individual-involved special sports tours fail to be thought much of,and thus sports tourism here develops very slowly till now. This papar,by analyzing the opportunities and advantages to develop sports tourism in the area,concludes that sports tourism is very promising, if timely and fully made use of are the following advantages and opportunities： local resources, geographic position, policy, and the Three-Gorge brand.
