Sociological Interpretation of the Section Entitled Huang Ying in Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio

《聊斋志异.黄英》是一则充满深意的寓言,它深刻地反映了新兴生产方式在明代中叶产生发展的状况以及这一生产方式对旧文化的改造、颠覆。但由于自身的局限,在专制主义和旧文化的围剿下不久就衰亡了,从而使中华民族丧失了一次走向强大的宝贵机会。

The section entitled Huang Ying in Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio is a meaningful fable. It reflects profoundly the productive and developmental status of the new productive mode in the middle of the Ming ＂ Dynasty and its reformation and overturn of old culture. However, owing to the limitations per se, it soon faded under the joint enclosure of despotism and old culture. Consequently, the Chinese nation lost a precious chance to go into prosperity.
