The great differences between English and Chinese lead to the fact that Chinese students often meet with so great difficulties in the process of their English learning that they will soon lose their interest in it. One important way to solve this problem is to arouse and develop their interest in English through autonomous learning. The way is based on the theory of autonomous learning and emphasizes the importance of deriving interest from learning practice, so that it performs the function of improving the efficiency of study and the linguistic competence of the learners.
