On the Social Service Function of Our Country's Policemen

社会服务职能是人民警察的基本职能之一。广义的社会服务职能包括服务经济建设、服务社会和服务公众;狭义的社会服务职能仅指服务公众。服务经济建设是指有效地打击犯罪,为经济发展创造良好的社会治安环境;服务社会是指坚持“管理也是服务”的理念,在社会管理中,一切从有利于发展经济和构建和谐社会为出发点,营造宽严有序的社会环境;服务公众就是在人民警察的责权范围内,最大限度地做好助民、便民服务。

Social service function is one of the basic function of policemen. In a broad sense, it includes to serve the economic constraction, to serve the society and to serve the public. In a narrow sense, it only refers to serve the public. To serve the economic construction refers to attacking crimes effectively and creating a good social security enviroment for economic derelopment; to serve the society refers to insiisting the ＂administration is also service＂ idea, in social administration, taking all are for the benefit of dereloping economy and constructing harmonious society as starting point and creating a ordered social enviroment; to serve the public refers to trying their best to help and service the people within the policeme＇s right limit.
