A new heat treatment develop ed abroad aims at diversely heat treating different rotor regions of the combined HP-LP rotors in order to meet the manufacturing requirements of large capacity steam turbines. Materials, smelting and forging process as well as heat treatment of monobloc rotors of 60t weight are presented together with a listing of their characteristics.
