Zhu Xi's Rules of Family Etiquette and the Practice of Managing a Patriarchal Clan with the Rules of Family Etiquette in Huizhou in the Ming and Qing Dynasties

明清时期,在徽州社会中形成了对朱熹及其《家礼》极端崇拜的社会风气。徽州宗族多依据《家礼》进行本族内部的制度设计和制度建设,同时还十分重视对礼仪的执行与监督,旨在以此实现以礼治族、维持宗族社会秩序的目的。

The general mood of society of worshipping Zhu Xi and his Rules of Family Etiquette had come into being in Huizhou area during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The interior institution designing and building of the patriarchal clans of Huizhou had focused on Zhu Xi＇s Rules of Family Etiquette. The patriarchal clans of Huizhou had achieved great success on managing a patriarchal clan with the rules of etiquette by observing Zhu Xi＇s Rules of Family Etiquette. In order to control clansmen and keep order, the rules of etiquette had been observed and supervised in the patriarchal clans of Huizhou.
