战后整个中国都发生了大规模的学生运动,成为当时社会政治生活的重大事件。作为当时知名的时政评论刊物《观察》周刊对此给予了极大的重视,尤其是储安平,他多次撰文发表自己对于学生运动的看法,成为当时自由主义知识分子对学生运动评论的代表。他对学生运动发生的原因做了深入的分析,对国民党与其他媒体的态度进行了毫不客气的批评,对学生运动给予了高度的评价,并且意识到了这场学生运动的重大历史意义。他的观点代表了中间势力的基本立场。

Large-scale student movements broke out in the late 1940s in China, which became a great political affair in the social political life of the country. The Observer, a well-known current journal politics, gave it the enormous regarding, especially Chu Anping. He wrote several articles to publish his opinion. His opinions were represented those of liberal intellectuals. Chu Anping made thorough analysis for the reason which student strikes occurred, and gave the strong criticism for Kuomintang and other media. He gave the strong approval for student movements, and realized the historical significance of it. His viewpoint has represented basic standpoint of the third forces.
