In Mrs. Dalloway, Virginia Woolf has endowed paralleling Mrs. Dalloway and Septimus Warren Smith with several binary-opposing factors： femaleness and maleness, life and death, reason and insanity. Through skillful arrangements at the end of the novel, these binary-opposing factors finally achieve, in the two characters, respective unification.
