The paper mainly discusses Cai Yuanpei＇s doctrine of the mean. Professor Cai thought the doctrine of the mean embodied the Chinese spirit, which found expression in the Three People＂ Principles in modern times. As an ideology, its application in cultural studies found expression in the absorption of others, that is, the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures.
