通过文献资料法、对比分析法、类比法、专家访谈法、调查法等方法,对大都市进行了界定,总结了能够举办大型体育赛事的大都市在经济、文化、环境、安全保障等方面的发展程度,分析了已经举行过的一些大型体育赛事以及将在北京举行的2008年奥运会对举办城市产生的经济影响,得出了大型体育赛事的成功举办会对举办城市产生诸如形成投资高潮,拉动经济高速增长;创造大量就业机会;优化经济结构,促进产业升级,使城市经济更具活力和竞争力;提升举办城市的“无形资产”等积极的影响的结论。有条件的大都市应该积极申办大型体育赛事,借助赛事的积极影响加快自己的建设和发展,争取早日建设成为现代化的国际性大都市。

Set forth that the comprehensive sports events＇ successful holding has all-around-effect such as enlarging investment, stimulating the economic growth, create a large number of employment opportunities, optimize the economic structure, promote industry upgrading, make urban economy more vigorous with the competitiveness , aggrandize the ＂ intangible assets ＂ of host city＇s economy, The qualified metropolis should zealously bid for holding the comprehensive sports events, speed up the metropolis＇ construction and development, try to turn into the modernized international metropolis as soon as possible.
