津巴布韦首都哈拉雷是一个四季如春的花园城市，在阳光明媚、姹紫嫣红的街头漫步，你会发现在那甜蜜而柔软的花枝映衬下随处可见大大小小的石块和由其雕刻而成的形态各异、妙趣横生的艺术品。提起津巴布韦也许我们更多联想到的是壮观的维多利亚瀑布和世界闻名的烟草拍卖市场，实际上，在这个世界上唯一的以考古遗址来命名的国家里最有特色的要算石头和用它们雕刻成的艺术品了。无论是在哈拉雷的大街小巷、瀑布城的艺术品市场还是酒店、博物馆、甚至路边的草地上你都可以看到精美的石雕艺术品，它们体现的是这个古老而又迷人的南部非洲国家的民间文化精髓。
On the road from the Harare airport there are front gardens seemingly dotted with stones of strange shapes which ,on closer examination,become sculptures of elegant women,plants,flowers ,animals and birds.Zimbabweans are friendly.A stranger becomes a friend friendliness it is possible for a person to engage with the processes by which the sculpture is made,amid animated disussion while the hummer is falling and the stone is laking a different shape.
