When an experiment of seepage is carried out in the lab, water level is usually measured by hand. So the error of measured data usually affects the experiment results. This paper introduces an automatic data - collecting system based on Visual Basic language. The water level can be collected and dealt with in the lab. It is proved that introducing the automatic data - collecting system into students＇ experiment can abate working intensity of students, improve the precision of experiment data and promote the enthusiasm of students.
