The Pronunciation of Zhi System Words(知系字) in Tongcheng(通城) Dialect

近年来,位于鄂湘赣交界的通城方言成为方言学界讨论的焦点。其中,对知系字读舌尖塞音有不同的看法,主要有两种,一种认为是古音的保留,一种认为是中古音以后语音演变的结果。其实,通城话无论是知章组字读塞音,还是章组合口字读k或f声母,都是创新。引起这种变化的一个重要原因就是介音的作用。i介音使知章组开口三等由t或th声母演变为t d声母;知组合口三等字除外,u介音使t声母变为t d声母,并且韵母也发生了相应的变化。章组合口则变为k声母或f声母。

In recent years, the dialect of Tongcheng, which is located on the boundaries of Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces, has become the focus of dialect study. There are different views about Zhi system words that are pronounced as apex- stops. There are two kinds of views, one considering it as the ancient sound, the other considering it as the sound occurring after the medieval times. This paper studies the Zhi system words in Tongeheng dialect. Considering the consistency of Jiangxi dialect, the pronunciation of entire Zhi system words, and the comparison of the Zhang group（章组） and the Zhi group（知组字）,we must recognize the innovative nature of Zhi system words, which are pronounced as apex- stops, based on which, the paper has analyzed the environment of speech sound that brings about these changes.
