“太乙近天都,连山到海隅。白云回望合,青霭入看无。分野中峰变,阴晴众壑殊。欲投人处宿,隔水问樵夫。”唐代诗人王维的一首《终南山》传神地勾画出一副驰骋想象的广阔天地,将千峰叠翠,景色幽美,素有“仙都”、“洞天之冠”和“天下第一福地”美称的终南山展示在我们眼前。而今,就是在这片土地上,秦岭终南山特长公路隧道的建成通车,不仅标志着我国西部交通建设一项重点工程的顺利完工,更为西部交通建设科技项目在秦岭大地发挥引领和支撑作用增添了一笔亮彩。
As a key project in the Western Region Program of the Ministry of Communications, the Qinling Zhong Nan Shan Tunnel is the first super large tunnel in China of self- design, self-construction, self-supervision, self-administration and most difficulty. Further, it is also the first special long hilly highway tunnel of large scale construction in mode of parallel tunnels with one-way direction each at present in the world. The length of a single tunnel is 18. 02 km, which is NO.1 in Asia and No.2 in the World. The Program of “The Key Technology Study on Qinling Zhong Nan Shan Special Long Tunnel”of the Western Region Communications Construction Project of the Ministry of Communications was established in 2001 and systematic study and development have been started since then, covering six tasks of study of ventilation technology, anti-disaster technology and monitoring technology and etc. After six years’ pains efforts for tackling key problems in respect of science and technology, fruitful achievements have been made with major breakthroughs in more fields including the engineering construction and operation management of the said special long- tunnel. All these research results have not only provided guarantee for the smooth completion of the entire project, but also indicated the breakthrough in the design of highway tunnel in our country, and have a great significance in the history of world tunnel construction.
