This paper introduced the fast detection device of acting length of the sealing face which is suitable for on line detection of inlet and exhaust valve of the engine. This paper expounded the principle of operation and particulars of structure. Error analysis has been made on the result of detection which shows that the accuracy of measurement is able to fulfill the reqrirement completely.
