This paper analyzes the current status and development trends of high-performance computer technology, explains the new technology and market opportunity in the extensive-used HPC times based on cluster architecture. This paper also analyzes the current HPC standards situation at home and abroad from three aspects as ISO, IEC, ITU standards, industry standards and business standards, and points out that it is imperative and has far-reaching efforts to develop and to draw Chinese HPC standards
