绿松石作为玉饰品应用已有数千年的历史,而“绿松石”一词最早见于清代。因此,古代绿松石物冠何名成了人们竞相探究之所在。中国最著名的绿松石产地在湖北省襄阳境内,考古发掘资料显示,仅史前文化遗址中绿松石的分布就已经覆盖15个省、区。绿松石作为一种文化载体,它承载了中原文化向四周传播的诸多信息。

The name ＂Lǖsongshi＂ was used in the Qing Dynasty originally, though turquoise has been utilized as ornamental jade for thousands of years in China. How it was named in ancient times attracts people＇s great attention. It is known that the most famous turquoise locality in China is in Xiangyang, Hubei Province. The archaeological materials show that turquoise has been distributed over fifteen provinces or areas in China only in prehistoric culture sites. Turquoise as a cultural carrier offers a great amount of information on disseminating the Central Plain culture all around.
