透过“眼”的惯用表现看中日两国人民的自他意识

A Study of Self-other Consciousness of Chinese and Japanese Through the Eye-related Idioms in the Two Languages

中日两国在语言和文化方面存在很多异同点。透过中日两国文化的一些表面现象来研究、揭示其潜在的深层含义,对促进两国人民的相互理解具有十分重要的作用。语言是文化的栽体,惯用表现是漫长历史留下来的语言表达形式,它包含着不同民族的文化特征。中日两国语言的惯用表现中有关“眼”的用法非常多。表面上看,这些用法只是“眼”的惯用表现,但实质上在其背后却潜藏着中日两国人民在“自他意识”上的文化差异。

Both China and Japan belong to the Chinese cultural sphere （also known as the Sinosphere） . The two countries display similarities and differences in terms of their languages and cultures. A study aiming at revealing the deep meanings under the Sino-Japanese cultural surface should be of great benefit to the promotion of mutual understanding between the two countries. Language is the carrier of the culture, and idiomatic expressions of a language as a linguistic form that results from a long historical development should be capable of reflecting cultural features of the nation that uses the language. In both Chinese and Japanese languages there are a host of eye - related idioms, under the superficial semantic layer of which, as the present thesis contends, lies a cultural difference in the self-other consciousness between the two nations.
