“衣服是一种语言,是表达人生的一种袖珍戏剧”(张爱玲语),于是,她将各种色彩斑斓、款式多变的服饰展示,这成为作者和小说人物身份、心理、性格与命运的外化,成为诠释人物存在的方式,也使她的小说风味迥异,绚丽多姿。
According to Zhang Ai-ling, ＂ finery is a kind of language and a pocket drama to express life＂. Therefore, in her novel, she described in detail various kinds of colorful clothes which externalized the identity, psychology, personality and fate of the characters in her novels as well as the writer herself. The description of the finery is a means of interpreting the existence of the characters, and enables her novel to have a particular flavor.
