改革开放以来,我们的国力显著增强,人民的生活有了很大改善,但艰苦奋斗是中华民族的传统美德,中国共产党人继承并发展了这一优良传统,从而取得了新民主主义革命与社会主义建设的伟大胜利。目前,我们的路还很长,困难还很多,艰苦奋斗的精神不仅是克服和战胜困难的动力,而且是政治上立于不败之地的保障。

Since the reform and opening to the outside world, China＇s national power has been enhanced and the living standard of people has been improved. But hardworking is traditional virtue of our nation. Chinese Communists inherited the great tradition to have achieved the triumph of new-democratic revolution and socialist construction. Now we still have a long way to go and many difficulties to conquer. The spirit of working hard is not only a motive of conquering difficulties, but also a guarrantee for political victory.
