摘要
范畴化是人们对世界上万事万物进行分类的一种高级认知活动,分类是人类语言的基本特征之一,语言的研究离不开对范畴的研究。本文从认知的角度出发,应用典型理论解释英语过去时态范畴的意义,揭示原型理论在其认知过程中的重要作用。
categorization is a cognitive activity to categorize all the things in the world,and it＇s a basic feature of human language.To study language cannot deviate from the study of category.The author explained the English past tense in accordance to the prototype theory from the cognitive view and also revealed the significant role the prototype theory played in its cognitive process.
