The Empirical Tests on the Economic and Educational Factors Affecting the Population Growth

本文从经济增长和教育水平对人口增长影响的理论出发,建立人口增长与经济增长、教育水平之间的计量分析模型,分析得出结论:经济增长和教育水平对人口增长具有重要影响,经济增长、人民生活水平的改善和教育水平的提高会抑制人口的快速增长。最后据此给出政策建议。

The purpose of this paper is to test the economic and educational factors affecting the population growth. Based on the theory of the impacts of economic growth and education level on the population growth, the economic model is set up. Results indicate that economic growth and education level are the key factors affecting population growth. As a conclusion, economic growth, improvements of living standard and rises of education level will slower the population growth and even reduce population. Advices about policy-making are provided accordingly.
