唐诗英译活动的目的是向英语语言区传播中国文化。这一目的能否实现关键在于唐诗英语译文能否被英语文化区读者理解并接受。应当从接受美学角度出发,对唐诗英译活动进行分析。着重讨论英语文化区唐诗英译读者的特点,并以此为基础,探索唐诗英译的新路径。

The aim of translating Tang Poetry into English is to disseminate Chinese culture to English-speaking areas. The key to achieving the aim is to make the readers in English culture areas understand the English translation of Tang poetry. So it is necessary to study the process of translating Tang poetry into English on the basis of Reception Aesthetics. And the characteristics of readers of English translation of Tang poetry in English-speaking areas are studied to explore new ways to translate Tang poetry into English.
