衔接与连贯是语篇分析中的两个重要术语。语篇分析与翻译理解和表达密切相关,已被纳入翻译理论研究范围。汉语诗词作为一种结构特殊的语篇,要将其译成英语,再现其文学之美,必须研究和运用各种语篇衔接手段,使译文自然、连贯。通过衔接与连贯方法及汉诗英译的实例,探讨语篇衔接与连贯的研究在翻译过程中的可行性与重要性。

Cohesion and coherence are important terms in text analysis. Text analysis, which is closely related to the understanding and expression in translation, has been studied in translation theories. Chinese poems are texts of peculiar structure. In order to achieve literary elegance, one needs to study and use various means of textual cohesion, thus making the translation natural and coherent. By analyzing cohesion and coherence and the English versions of some Chinese poems, the thesis explores the feasibility and importance of the study on textual cohesion and coherence in the translating process.
