The Transition from Generalization to Domain Specialization of Language Study——The Analysis of Lexical Chunks from the Viewpoint of Cognitive Theories and Models

摘要语言被认为是高度系统化、有规则控制的人类语言行为,但同时,有研究者也发现语言运用中存在着不同层次的语块。对语块的研究一开始便围绕着规则和语块在语言习得中的关系、作用和地位而展开。本文从认知科学理论和模式的角度,对语块进行了较为全面的分析,为当代语言学理论的研究提供了一个新的视角。文章最后指出有必要对语块进行更深入、系统性的研究以确定其在语言学理论中的地位,推动语言学理论的进一步发展。 Language has been considered highly systematic and rule-govemed human behavior. However, at the same time, different levels of lexical chunks are spotted in language use. In fact, the study on lexical chunks has been focusing on their status and relationship from the very beginning. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of lexical chunks from the viewpoint of some theories and models in cognitive science, which provides a new perspective for the study of modem linguistic theories. The paper concludes that it is necessary to carry out deeper and more systematic research on the phenomenon so as to ascertain its theoretical position and promote further development of linguistic theories.
