Analysis of the Income Disparity of China——A New Approach and Empirical Test

基尼系数作为测度居民收入差距最常用的指标有多种计算方法,使用面积累积法不仅可以简化计算过程,而且可以同时考察中国城乡间、地区间的收入差距及其对总基尼系数的影响。此外,借助该方法还可以从收入来源角度对基尼系数加以分解分析,从而为全面把握中国收入差距状况提供方法上的支持。

There are different ways to calculate Gini Index which is the most popular index to measure the income disparity,and there are also many ways to decompose it. In this paper, the author uses a new method called proportion accumulstion means to calculate Gini Index, which not only makes the process much easier , but also makes it possible to compute the disperities between urban and rural area and among different regions of China by using the same formula. What＇s more,the author can also use this means to decompose Gini Index by income resources . So it is much easier that to understand the whole condition of Chinese income disparity by this means.
