Influence of Cultural Factor on Interlingual Transformation

翻译不只是双语之间的转换活动,而且是两种文化之间的交流。在对应式、平行式、替代式和冲突式等不同模式的语际转换中,存在着语言文字结构、语义表述和文化上的障碍。应该看到,文化的渗透性、兼容性、民族性和干扰性既使语际转换成为可能,又使语际转换存在着一定的局限性。若克服这种局限性,应采取移植法、转化法和加注法等运作策略,如此,既再现了原著的神韵,又表现出翻译者独具匠心的“神功”。

Not merely an activity of transformation between two languages, translation also embodies an exchanging of two cultures. Among the transformation of different principles, corresponding, paralleling, substitution and conflict, there are still many barriers in structure of language and words, linguistic expression, and culture. However, we should realize that even though penetration, compatibility, national spirit and interference possessed by culture make it possible, the transformation remains some limitations needed to be overcome. Therefore, transferring, transforming and noting, these strategies should be adopted to reproduce the verve of original works and translator＇s extraordinary skills.
