In this paper, an introduction to the theoretical basis and operation guide of the software Chinatide for predicting tide in China seas is made first. Then comparison and verification is carried out between the predicted tide data and field measured data. Finally problems in the operation of Chinatide is indicated. Chinatide is a good software for providing boundary conditions for tidal flow mathematical models in coastal and estuarine waters.
