A survey on transport control protocol for wireless sensor networks is given in this paper. At first, the disadvantages of traditional transport control protocols（TCP） for the environment of wireless sensor networks are listed. Several design issues of transport control protocols for wireless sensor networks are presented. Secondly, some existing transport control protocols for wireless sensor networks are classified and compared with each other. Finally, several problems needing further study are outlined.
