以约翰.米尔斯海默为代表的进攻性现实主义流派于20世纪80年代开始登上国际关系理论舞台,因其解释国家行为特征“崛起和拓展国家利益”的独特视角而受到国际关系理论界的广泛关注。尤其是对冷战的终结以及世界政治走向进行了探讨。文章对进攻性现实主义理论进行了综合的概述和系统、深入的批判;并认为它虽然存在着许多缺陷和不足,但作为现实主义的新发展,其若干启示仍是值得借鉴的。
