The Implication of Contrastive Analysis of Chinese and Western Thought Pattern and Discourse Organizing Forms on Strategies in Teaching Chinese Student Writing

将中西思维和语篇模式进行对比来探求中国学生容易在英语写作时出现的中国螺旋式的篇章组织模式的原因。提出从宏观上让学生熟悉用英语的直线思维模式和英语语篇组织模式来安排自己的文章结构,并从宏观语言学的主述位理论,意合与形合的语篇衔接手段来探讨解决中国学生英语写作时出现问题的策略。

This paper analyses the discrepancies between the Chinese and westem thought pattem and discourse organizing forms, which is the cause affect Chinese students circular way of discourse organizing habit. The author proposes that College English teacher should familiarize their students with the westem linear way of thought pattem and discourse organizing forms. Besides, the author also proposes that Chinese teacher adopt practical strategies to guide their students in English writing under the theory of theme and rheme and the discourse cohesive device of hypotaxis.
