民主输出已成为美国外交政策中不可缺少的一个部分,美国此举主要受到实际利益和价值观念的驱使。但在现实中一些成功实践的背后却隐藏着更多的挫折和失败。对于视为后院的海地,美国多年来在此推广民主的努力换来的却是许多意想不到的后果,民主不仅未能在海地真正扎根,而且逐步蜕变成一个空壳,美国的现实利益也在这一过程中不断受到侵蚀。从美国自身的角度出发,研究海地民主化过程中国内政局和社会演变对美国利益构成负面影响,美国民主输出的初衷与结果之间存在各种矛盾,美国民主输出自身难以避免其局限性。

Democracy export has become one of the essential parts of America＇s foreign policy. It was driven by both practical interest and ideology. But much failures and setbacks can be seen behind the few succeed practice in reality. America＇s effort to export democracy in Haiti, which was regarded as its backyard, has been getting reward of nothing but much unexpected consequences. Democracy neither take root in Haiti, nor gradually developed into a shell. America ＇s practical interest was also corroded in the process. From the point of America＇s view, the thesis tries to study the negative influence that the internal political situation and the society＇s changing in the democratizing process of Heidi imposed to America＇s interest, to find the contradiction between the will and result of America＇s democracy export, and to reveal the inevitable limitation of this policy.
