The extension and production of hybrid rice outside China was outlined. The performance of Chinese rice hybrids in the trials, demonstrations and large-scale productions for many years grown in the three countries in tropical regions including the Philippines, Myanmar and Guinea was introduced. It is concluded that the Chinese hybrid rice can not only grow well but also yield much higher than the local conventional inbred rice in these tropical countries.
