成人高等教育产生于19世纪中叶英国的新大学运动,其本质在于以知识为目的和以知识为手段两个维度,其价值和功能主要体现在个人本位和社会本位两个层面。在构建我国和谐社会的过程中,当注意成人高等教育个人本位和社会本位价值观的统一。成人高等教育的过度功利性价值取向会导致和谐社会的不和谐。

Adult higher education emerged the new university movement on the 19th middle period in England. The essence lies in two dimensions of the goal on knowledge and the means on knowledge. And the two layers of the center on single person and the center on society embody its value and function. In the course of constructing harmonious society, the unit is important in the aspect of the center on single person and the center on society in adult higher education. The excessive utility trend of adult higher education will lead to disharmony in the harmonious society.
