详细介绍了古代中国不同时期森林、草原、耕地、湖泊水源、气候的地理环境的特点及其变迁,并且介绍了自先秦时期、秦汉、魏晋隋唐、宋元明清以来地理环境的变迁及对食品生产种类、耕作方式、主粮地位、食品生产重心、农牧业比例等产生的影响,还介绍了不同阶段的食品生产呈现的不同特征。
The characteristics of the geography environment of forest, steppe, farmland, lake headwaters, weather and their transition in different period in ancient China are introduced in detail and the transition of the geography environment since fore-Qin period, Qin-Han, Wei-Jin-Sui-Tang, Sung-Yuan Ming-Qing period have effects on food produce category, farming way, main food position, emphasis of food production and the proportion of agriculture and animal husbandry, etc. The food production in different stage has different characteristic.
