保安族没有自己民族特色的神话;传说是保安族口承民俗里最具地域和民族色彩的部分;众多的民间故事反映了保安人的生活智慧和价值观念;保安族花儿因其保安令的运用和独特声调使其个性突出;《满拉哥》《韩营长》类的哭丧歌使保安族宴席曲在多个民族共享的口承民俗中特色显现;保安族俗语和谚语以最精短的语言将生活智慧凝练,是多民族共享的口承民俗;保安族中传唱的民间打调不具民族特色;劳动号子是唯一的保安语说唱形式。

The Baoan ethnic group has no myth of its own nationality. Legends are an important part of local features and ethnic features in the Baoan spoken folklore. Folklores are a reflection of wisdom and value of the Baoan ethnic group. Huaer of the Baoan ethnic group is characterized by application of tune of Baoan and its unique tone. Sad songs like ＂brother apprentices＂ and ＂Han battalion＂ make feast tune of the Baoan ethnic group become prominent in spoken folklores shared by several ethnic groups. Colloquialism and idioms of the Baoan ethnic group is brief and short. They are shared by many ethnic groups. The tunes of folksong sung by the Baoan ethnic group show no features of the group, while tunes of laborers is only form of singing of the Baoan ethnic group.
