Brief Analysis of Political Reason for America Congress’s Taiwan Policy after Cold War

台湾问题是关系到我民族复兴的重大战略问题,同时也是中美关系中最敏感、最核心的议题。冷战后,美国国会影响对华对台决策的力度明显加大,成为影响美国冷战后对台决策的主要变量,并且常常扮演非常消极的角色。美国国会积极主动地影响并力图主导冷战后美国对台政策的制定主要出于其强烈的政治意愿,认清这一点对于我们认识美国在台湾问题的立场、态度,从而加强与美国国会的交流和交往,厘清台湾问题的种种干扰因素具有重要的意义。

Taiwan Question is an important strategic problem, which is connected with National revival; however, the solution to the issue is close relative with the policy that the American government holds. American congress has stronger influence on the policy after cold war, which became a key variable, and plays a very negative role. The reason that American congresses influences the policy actively and wants to play leading role in the policy-making is from its strong policy willing. It is very significant to know its position and attitude, so that the relationship between China and American congress would be improved and strengthened.
