Interest in micron-diameter fibers for chromatography packings has been active for many years, but lack of repeatabihty and control of the packing process has hindered commercial development. Recently, however, a novel polymer-fiber format has been developed that appears to overcome many past drawbacks and promises to provide the chromatographer with a new selection of stationary phases.
