Descriptive Translation Studies:A New Approach

简要介绍了描写性翻译研究的起源、定义、特征和意义,并通过对陈宏薇、江帆合著的《难忘的历程——〈红楼梦〉英译事业的描写性研究》一文的分析,来探讨今后如何进行描写性翻译研究。

Descriptive Translation Studies （DTS）, developed in the 1970s in the western world, represents a new approach to translation studies. It broadens the horizon of translation studies. This paper will give a brief introduction to the origin, definition, features and significance of DTS. Through the study of the paper The Translation of Hong Lou Meng into English： A Descriptive Study co-authored by Chen Hongwei and Jiang Fan, it will also dwell on how to conduct DTS in our later research.
