Electronic money emerges as a result of customer demand. The global nature of the internet enables such entirely demand-oriented electronic money to cross territorial borders more easily, which aggravates global competition between money supply mechanisms of different countries and brings about negative impact on their macro regulation . This paper attempts at an analysis of a country's money supply and demand changes in the context of financial globalization and internet banking, to shed light on the impact of such changes on a country's monetary policy.
