推进社会主义新农村建设非常必要也十分重要,对于边疆少数民族地区尤为必要和重要。大理州加快推进社会主义新农村建设既面临着绝好的机遇,又面临着严峻的挑战。大理州加快推进社会主义新农村建设必须始终坚持以经济建设为中心,以提高农民的综合素质,培养新型农民为关键,切实加强生态环境的保护和治理,大力发展旅游支柱产业,以加强农村的精神文明和民主政治建设为重要动力和保障。同时注意综合协调地区差异,克服某些偏差。

Speeding up the new socialist villages is of vital importance, especially in the frontier ethnic minority regions. Dali Prefecture embraces a good opportunity in this endeavor, but on the other hand needs to brace up for a grave challenge. It must consistently stick to the development of economy as a central task, improve the farmers＇ overall competence, further preserve the ecological environment, push forward the tourism as a mainstay sector, and make even more efforts in cultural activities and political democracy pursuits of the rural areas. At the same time, we need to take care for and coordinate the disparities between different places.
