This paper explores the profound impact of Jin Yong＇s life-death awareness on the characterization in his novels. His awareness of tragedy, rebellion, seclusion and orphanage finds expression in four corresponding characters. A probe into the relationship between the two will be helpful in understanding Jin Yong＇s works and himself.
