2007年中日关系的基本特点

The Basic Characteristics of Sino-Japanese Relations in 2007

2006年10月以来,中日关系开始走出“政冷”低谷而进入复交以来的第三时期,即以“合作与竞争并存”为基本特征的时期。近期内中日关系的前景将取决于两国走向“战略互惠”和日本对华采取“两面下注”战略两种趋势如何发展。2007年,总体上中日关系将在这一大环境下继续“回暖”。

Since October of 2006, Sino-Japanese relations have emerged from the lowest point of “politically cold” into a third phase since the reestablishment of their diplomatic relations, which is basically characterized by “co-existence of cooperation and competition”. The prospect of Sino-Japanese relations in the near future depends largely on how the two strategic trends would develop, namely whether or not the two countries would march towards “mutual strategic benefits” and Japan would adopt a strategy of “staking on two sides” towards China. On the whole, Sino-Japanese relations would continue to “warm up” in the context of the current international environment in 2007.
