揣摩之术是《鬼谷子》的核心内容,也是纵横家赖以存在的思想基础。传统的观点是将《鬼谷子》视为纵横家的典籍,而就其实质而言,它是纵横家在政治活动中,通过心理特征与心理反应来实现政治意图的智慧结晶。与现在的心理学相比较,它不仅有早于现代西方的心理学理论,同时,也与其有着相通、相融之处。

Some people take a traditional view that Gui GuZi is an ancient book. In the light of the essence, the method was used is a common and an original psychology. Therefore, it is the most ancient book on the psychology and the methodology which is to realize peoples of communication and harmony by infection of human＇ s mind. Compare with the west psychology, they both have a common basic and a joint. What is more, Gui GuZi has practical sense and rational meaning.
