Institutional Research as Management Consultancy

本文把院校研究看成一类管理咨询研究,是在高等学校内部进行、以改进本校管理为基本目的的一种管理咨询研究,是管理咨询的一个专门领域。目的是希望借助相对较成熟的管理咨询方法来规范院校研究的工作方式,提高院校研究的水平。具体讨论了三个问题:①为什么可以把院校研究看作一类管理咨询研究;②在院校研究中如何运用专业管理咨询程序与方法;③作为内部咨询研究的院校研究所面临的一些特殊问题。

This article argues that institutional research can be regarded as a kind of management consuhancy, conducted within an institute of higher learning with an aim to improve effectiveness and efficiency of its management. The purpose of this article is to introduce process and methods of management consultancy into institutional research in order to improve the practice of institutional research. This article further discussed three issues： ① Why institutional research can be regarded as a kind of management consultation？ ② How to adopt procedures and methods of management consultation in institutional research practice; and ③ special issues of institutional research as a kind of internal management consulting.
